Sacred Beekeeping, a Path being re-awakened the world over, has roots in Permaculture. Permaculture aligns itself with many symbols and symbolic structures as well as a life-oriented system developed to re-align us with Gaia and our plant and animal family. Permaculture, as is being developed and practiced as a growing cultural trend in the Western World, is a great inspiration for the College of the Melissae as we develop our Six-Fold Path of Sacred Beekeeping.

It also gives us great confidence that so many people are coming forward to rename and reclaim the Sacred with relevance to the modern context. People are boldly asserting, in everyday Life, that we are immersed in, and have a right to Name our Sacred Tools and reclaim our greater awareness of the Symbolic in our relationship with the plant, animal, mineral and energetic world.

Kate B., an Australian student of the College of the Melissae, sent us this sweet video that illuminates some such symbols arising in the world as learned from the embodied practice of Permaculture Farming.

Willi Paul in his video. I like how he says "Welcome to the Permaculture Age."
