Warrior Wisdoms

To be a warrior is to stand for those who cannot stand for themselves.

To be a warrior is to sacrifice the self; the sense of home, the arms of protection, the body, in order to show the depth of sacred action in defense of the Greater Good.

The Warrior faces exile and stands for principles of Integrity greater than herself especially when standing against the dis-ease in her own community.

This warrior is the strongest of All; The True friend who tells the Truth to those she loves. Knowing she is engaging in an act of social immolation and burning herself in order to make the way clear for those that may make headway out of the path cleared by destruction.

Those invested in patterns of domination will belittle this warrior. Brush off her kamikaze mission like a spent bee. But know this, when one bee is smashed by the big Hand, the scent of alarm ripples through the hive. The one who smashes carries this marker on them-seemingly invisibly but the perfume initiates an audible hum of warning and alarm within the Hive-Body. The Female Warrior of all warriors has the most chilling war cry.

Not because of the ferocity, but as an expression of grief.

Within this ululation is the sorrowful howl: "Why are you doing this to us?!" and "Not even one more time!"

This photo is of a 1659 painting by Elisabetta Sirani depicting Timoclea of Thebes pushing the Thracian captain who raped her into a well.

Imagine the outrage from the military that she killed their captain.

Imagine how the sisters would turn away in order to pacify the army.

Imagine how Timoclea felt, and be assured it was beyond revenge.

She drowned the rapist to protect her daughters and even the sisters who shunned her.

Her sorrow will not be in what she had to do, but that she had to do it.
